Minneapolis Weekly Grain Summary

Prices for the week ending Thursday, October 11, 2018

**The prices for spring wheat on the spot rail market are now quoted Delivered Chicago 
for Beyond.** 

The milling wheat cash prices were mostly mixed this week.  Supply and demand continue to 
be light.

**Spring Wheat: Prices are for US 1 Dark Northern Spring Wheat with less than 2.0 ppm 
Vomitoxin. The 12 pct protein wheat had no quote. The 13 pct protein wheat had no quote. 
The 13.5 pct protein had no quote. The 14 pct protein was 0.25 cents lower from 6.6950N-
6.9450, the basis steady from to 80N to 105N cents over the December futures delivered 
Chicago for Beyond. The 14.5 pct was 5.25 to 10.25 cents lower from 6.5950N-6.6975, the 
basis 5 to 10 cents lower from 70N to 80 cents over the December futures delivered 
Chicago for Beyond. The 15's were 9.75 to 29.75 cents higher from 6.9450N-7.0450, the 
basis was 10 to 30 cents higher from 105 to 115 cents over the December futures delivered 
Chicago for Beyond. The 20 day to-arrive truck delivery for 12 pct protein HRW bid into 
Minneapolis was 8.50 cents lower at 5.9375, the basis was steady at 80 cents over the 
December Hard Red Winter Wheat futures.

  Barley: Robust Malting Barley 60 pct or better plump max. 2.0 ppm vomitoxin had no 
quote. The to-arrive bid for 1.0 ppm vomitoxin rail delivered to Minneapolis had had no 
quote. Feed Barley delivered into Duluth closed the week with no bid. Feed Barley 
delivered into Minneapolis was steady with a bid of 2.60.

  Corn: US 2 Yellow Corn was 7.75 cents higher at 3.1825 with the basis 6 cents higher 51 
cents under the December futures. The to-arrive bids for corn are: First/half November at 
3.2225, last/half April at 3.4850, May at 3.5050, June at 3.54, and July at 3.56.

  Oats: US 2 or better Oats had no quote on the spot market. The To-arrive bids for oats 
were 1.50 to 11.50 cents lower from 2.8050-3.5150, the basis was steady to 10 cents lower 
from 6 cents under the December futures to 65 cents over the December futures.
  
  Soybeans: US 1 Yellow Soybeans were 7.00 cents higher at 7.7125 with the basis 8 cents 
higher at 87 cents under the November futures. The to-arrive bids for soybeans are: 
First/half November 7.7525, last/half April and May at 8.2350, and June and July at 
8.3525.
